Adolescent Parent Day 2023
APIN is again pleased to have hosted its annual Adolescent Parent Day! The event was held at the Norwood Hotel on October 26th, 2023 and a fun and informative day was had by all!
The morning was filled by Jean MacKinnon’s presentation “Keys to Attachment”, Mia Elfenbaum presenting about the “MyBaby Parenting Resource”, and A’ja’s interactive “Four Medicines Teaching and Drumming”.
And the afternoon was busy with participants rotating through a series of four breakout sessions. This year we had a Tai Chi session by Master Jeff and Master Walter from Red Dragon Tai Chi, a pre- and post-natal friendly exercise session by Peg City Fitness, a session put on by Winnipeg Library Services, and a photobooth complete with fun props and photos to take home!
This year our Adolescent Parent Day had a Halloween theme! It was great to see so many participants and their children dressed in Halloween costumes! This was a really fun addition to the Adolescent Parent Day program!
There was a raffle for gift cards, and each participant left with a gift bag full of goodies and a Halloween treat bag including chocolate treats and a Halloween cookie!
