Get the app now and be ready when your first meeting starts: https://global.gotomeeting.com/install/195341485\n\nPRESENTATION: This presentation aims to discuss the intersection between young motherhood\, perinatal (pregnancy and postpartum) mental health\, and child development through a strengths-based lens. Evidence-based information on how to identify perinatal mental health concerns and how to best support children of young mothers is introduced. Psychological services available to young mothers and their children living in Manitoba are reviewed.\n\nSPEAKER: Karmen McDivitt\, M.A. Ph.D. Candidate – Karmen is a pre-doctoral resident at the Clinical Health Psychology residency program within the Max Rady College of Medicine\, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences\, and University of Manitoba. In addition to her clinical training\, Karmen is completing her PhD research at the University of Manitoba in the Baby Language Lab. Her research interests include infant language development\, young motherhood (including adolescent and emerging adulthood developmental stages)\, perinatal mental health (with a special focus on perinatal anxiety)\, and knowledge translation. Karmen grew up in Kelowna\, where she completed her undergraduate honours degree in psychology at the University of British Columbia- Okanagan\, before starting her graduate training in Winnipeg. Karmen has received research grants through the University of Manitoba and Province of Manitoba.
