PRESENTATION:
This presentation will focus on the changes to the Divorce and Family Law Acts, with discussion of the emphasis on the duty to resolve without conflict or involving the children, the changes in language used to describe the incidents of parenting, the considerations set out in the legislation, including the emphasis on family violence concerns, and the provisions concerning moving/relocation.
SPEAKER: Wayne Rose
Wayne Rose attended the University of Manitoba, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts, then entered the Faculty of Law where he earned an LLB (law degree) in 1984. After articling with Legal Aid Manitoba, he was called to the Bar in June 1985.
Since then, Mr. Rose has practiced primarily in the area of family law as an associate lawyer and more recently as a sole practitioner. He has appeared at both levels of Manitoba’s superior courts; Courts of King’s Bench and Court of Appeal.
Mr. Rose is an active member of the Manitoba Bar Association, having served on the executive and as chair of the Family Section.
